Since 1921, the name Strolz has been synonymous with custom ski boots from Lech am Arlberg. What began as Ambros Strolz’s shoemaker’s workshop has, over three generations, evolved into an independent ski boot manufacturer, where craftsmanship, experience and a passion for the perfect ski boot remain unchanged to this day.

The ski boot manufacturer and the Strolz sports and fashion house have always been independent companies. For many years, there was a cross-shareholding arrangement between the two firms. In 2021, the year of the company’s centenary, this link was dissolved. Both companies continued independently.

For the ski boot manufacturer, this also marked the launch of a new brand identity. Within a year, Hannes Strolz was born – a new brand with a name that stands for what has remained unchanged for generations: personal responsibility for the ski boot, a love of craftsmanship and the commitment to tailor every boot individually to its wearer.

The name was new. The heritage was not.

Since 2021, the history of the ski boot manufacturer has been written anew under the name Hannes Strolz. The experience gained from more than a hundred years of ski boot making is just as much a part of its identity as the consistent combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology.

Even today, ski boots are still developed and manufactured in the Arlberg region. Every ski boot therefore bears not only a name, but also the responsibility and expertise of a family that has been dedicated to ski boot manufacturing since 1921.

Following Bründl Sports’ acquisition of the Strolz sports and fashion house in June 2026, the paths taken by the two companies are now clearly discernible to the outside world. The Hannes Strolz ski boot manufacturer remains what it has always been: an independent manufacturer based in Lech am Arlberg.
